With reference to your letter No. 906 of the
26th instant and previous correspondence, I have the
honour to inform you that with a view to meeting the
requirements of the Admiralty referred to in your
letter of the 3rd ultimo, I propose that the following
words should be added to the first paragraph of Sir
Henry Blake's letter of the 12th November:- "and for
"altering or replacing any works belonging to the Admiralty
*which may be injuriously affected by such resumption,
"provided that no permanent works other than fences or
"retaining walls shall be constructed by the Admiralty
"within thirty (30) feet of the boundaries of the lot
"adjoining Kennedy Road and Gap Road."
2. If this proposal meets with your approval I have
the honour to request you to consider Sir Henry Blake's
letter of the 12th November as amended accordingly.
3. With regard to the approach road referred to in
your letter it would appear to form an encroachment on
Colonial Land but I have no objection to the adoption of
your stipulation provided that a drawing is furnished
showing such road as it now exists.
I have &c.
(sd) F. H. May,
Officer Administering the Govt.
